My name is Brandon Kohler, the founder of UDM.
During my 11-year tenure with Good in the ‘Hood, a Twin-Cities non-profit that’s Inspiring Intentional Kindness, I gained insights into the wide range of needs in our communities.
From essential resources like food and clothing to intangible necessities like mentorship and hope, living and working in South Minneapolis’ Phillips neighborhood for a decade, I saw the pervasive challenges of poverty, generational struggles, and fractured families. I encountered individuals working multiple jobs to make ends meet and others hungry for opportunities to learn and grow. I also saw the resilience of people striving for a better tomorrow.
These experiences ignited a desire to leverage my entrepreneurial skills to uplift and empower others facing similar obstacles. I decided I was going to turn the whole model Upside Down!
So what is The Upside Down Movement…exactly?
We’re an innovative service business movement that is biased towards investing in those often overlooked or considered ordinary, because we believe everyone has something extraordinary within.
We mentor and employ adults and teens, emphasizing hands-on work skills, leadership, and customer service. We have state-of-the-art, professional equipment to provide the very best year-round outdoor services. Whether it be lawn maintenance, basic landscaping, exterior cleaning, or snow removal.
