(Almost) Everything You Need to Know About Liquid Brine

What is liquid brine?

Liquid Brine is a saltwater solution for anti-icing on roads, parking lots, and driveways. Rather than waiting until when or after an ice or snow event happens, our crews apply liquid brine to the surfaces we’ll be servicing. One of the biggest benefits of liquid brine are that it produces little to no salt mess in entryways, flooring, and facilities. It can be applied with accuracy and with little waste all while using 1/3 of the salt of granular spreading.

Overall, the use of liquid brine accomplishes a couple of things:

  1. Liquid brine keeps snow and ice from setting and sticking. By treating the surface before the weather event hits will full force, you’re ensuring that clean up will be quicker and cleaner.

  2. Applying liquid brine helps to reduce the amount of salt applied to surfaces. Living in an area with harsh winter conditions sometimes means using salt is unavoidable. And research into the topic will reveal the negative effects of applied salt to our ecosystem. An early application of brine, however, makes it possible to use less salt with greater results.

At UDM, we’re committed to using the solutions that are best for your space and for our environment. To find out what’s available to you at your home or business, contact us today!
